May 5-7, 2017  Iowa Camp-In Mini-Convention

A NEW LOCATION FOR "SPRINGBROOK"

The Iowa DNR has informed us that the Springbrook Education Center will close for good March 13th, 2017. The state park will stay open. With the help of several N4C members and others, we have found an existing new camp on 30 acres just 10 miles south of Springbrook. We will have the same great meals and the same registration fees that are on the current registration forms. You can use the same registration form, and next year we will change the name. The N4C board voted 9-0 to approve this location, and Ken Johnson and Dwight Tomes visited the facility to make sure it fit our needs.

In order to use the location, we need to change from the April date to May 5-6-7. Sorry about that, but this was too good a deal to not accept. The name of the facility is St. Thomas More Center. It is located west of Panora, Iowa, overlooking Lake Panorama. It has meeting rooms, dining hall with round tables that will seat 160. The dorms have enough bunk beds so everyone can use the lower bunk and use the upper for your things. Again, you will have to bring all your own bedding and pillow. It is a no smoking campus. If you want to camp, you can make reservations at the campground at Springbrook.

Click on this link to see a few pictures of the facility: http://n4c.us/STMC/index.html   If we enjoy our stay, we are invited to continue using this facility yearly. A special thank you goes to Paul Belden (Springbrook Concessionaire), Joe Connolly (Director of STM), Ken Johnson, Dwight Tomes, and your N4C board. As Ken put it, "They are making every effort to accommodate us. My thought is that they are compassionate, as if we are refugees. (In a way we are), as the country of Springbrook has been overthrown." Registration fees remain the same and we will have the same meal concessionaire as at Springbrook.
